The air was warm against my skin, thick with the scent of summer as Bunisu and I walked side by side along the quiet path by the lake. The only sounds were the crickets and the soft lapping of water at the shore, a perfect, peaceful backdrop to the night. Above us, the first stars were slowly appearing, shimmering against the deep velvet of the evening sky. I knew tonight was going to be special, but it was more than just the stars. It was the way Bunisu was next to me, close enough that I could feel their warmth, hear their soft breaths.

I glanced at Bunisu and my heart raced. Under the soft glow of the moonlight, their features seemed almost surreal—like they were crafted out of the night itself. Their sharp cheekbones caught the light in just the right way, and their eyes sparkled like the stars themselves, filled with something warm and familiar. Without thinking, I reached out, and Bunisu’s hand met mine halfway, their fingers slipping between mine with an easy, natural grace.

The warmth of their touch spread through me, quiet and reassuring, like everything in the world had fallen into place. For a moment, I could only look at them, not caring about anything else.

“You see that?” Bunisu’s voice was soft, almost like they didn’t want to disturb the serenity of the moment. They pointed toward the horizon, where the first faint streak of a falling star appeared. I nodded, though in truth, my gaze was more on them than the sky.

The stars could fall a thousand times, but nothing could take my eyes off of them.

Suddenly, the first meteor lit up the sky, a brilliant line of light streaking overhead. Bunisu squeezed my hand gently, and we stopped walking, turning to face each other. Time seemed to slow, the sounds of the world fading away until it was just the two of us standing there under the endless night.

Without a word, Bunisu reached up, their hand grazing my cheek. The touch was so light, so tender, yet it sent a wave of warmth through me, a soft shiver running down my spine. Their gaze, intense yet gentle, traced my face, like they were seeing me in a way no one else ever had.

“You’re beautiful,” they whispered, their voice so soft it felt like a secret meant only for me.

My heart raced, the sound loud in my ears as their thumb brushed over my lips. It was a small, delicate movement, but it sent a thrill through me. I could barely breathe, anticipation curling around me as they leaned in closer. I closed my eyes, feeling the warmth of their breath just before their lips touched mine.

The kiss was soft at first, like they were asking a question, and I responded, letting the moment deepen, savoring every second. Their lips moved slowly, sweetly, like we had all the time in the world. My heart pounded against my chest, in time with theirs, and all the worries and thoughts melted away. In that kiss, nothing else existed. Just Bunisu. Just us.

Their hands cupped my face gently, like I was something fragile, something they didn’t want to break. Every touch was filled with emotion, silent promises spoken through the warmth of their lips against mine.

When we finally pulled away, our foreheads rested together, our breaths coming in soft, uneven puffs. I didn’t need to open my eyes to know they were still looking at me. I could feel it, the way their presence wrapped around me, comforting and strong.

Another star fell across the sky, but neither of us moved to watch. We didn’t need to.

Because right then, the only thing that mattered was Bunisu, and the quiet, beautiful way they made everything else disappear.
